I have
my BA in Dance from TWU where I was a member of the International folk
Dance Company and I am currently enrolled in alternative certification
through A+ Texas Teachers. I have passed the TExES content exam for
Dance 8-12 and must teach one year under a probationary certificate
before applying for the standard certificate. I would be happy to
forward any necessary documentation. I know that having a degree in
dance sets me apart and allows me to better implement proper technique
and body conditioning as well as integrate dance with other disciplines.
Due to my education I am able to incorporate anatomy, physiology, social
studies, language arts and music within my lessons. I feel this is
necessary in order to better assist my students. Being a part of the
Pure Gold Dance Team at Boswell High probably had the greatest and most
positive impact and I would love be a part of a program that has the
ability to influence other students in the same way.
